About the Book


Thank you for your interest in Willow in a Storm. With the help of Ian Leask, The Queue and Scarletta Press, and from Jim's keen memory as well as records and documents he had gathered and stored throughout the 40 years he served in the US penal system, we were able to create a manuscript. The Queue, through providing intense consultation on the manuscript, helped us make this book the powerful work it is today. 


Scarletta Press acquired the book and published it in 2007. In Spring of 2008, we learned we were finalists in the Midwest Independent Publishers Association (MIPA) Book Awards, in the Memoir category. We hope you have or will find this memoir a memorable and thought provoking experience.
